In response to the growing demand that lawyers be technologically savvy, Southwestern has created the Julian C. Dixon Courtroom and Advocacy Center (JDC).
Completed in Spring 2004, the Center features the most high-tech legal equipment available in a spectacular professional facility. Encompassing both the Dixon Courtroom and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Suite, the Center is wired with features including a multi-media, web-based evidence presentation system, a technology-augmented jury deliberation room, and webcast and broadcast capabilities.
Students gain unparalleled hands-on experience in a multitude of legal processes, from computerized trial presentation to video conferencing to electronic annotation. Through specialized courses, they learn to use technology to their advantage, while developing supreme skills in advocacy, litigation and alternative dispute resolution. The Dixon Center provides Southwestern students with both the technical and intellectual tools to excel in the new legal landscape.
