Chanté Spann

Chanté Spann is the Assistant Dean for Online Education at Southwestern Law School. She primarily focuses on recruiting students for the Online J.D. program, assisting students with career planning and strategy, and facilitating legal externships, internships, and post-graduate opportunities.

Prior to joining Southwestern, Dean Spann served as the Manager of External Career Opportunities at Sidley Austin LLP, where she assisted firm lawyers, alumni, and clients with securing in-house counsel positions.

Dean Spann previously worked for 12 years at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, serving as the Assistant Dean for Admissions and the Assistant Dean for Career Services. 

Prior to her career in legal education, Dean Spann practiced law for eight years, primarily focusing on commercial litigation.

Dean Spann earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her B.A. in psychology from Emory University.
