Bridgette de Gyarfas is an Associate Professor of Legal Analysis, Writing, and Skills. Professor de Gyarfas rejoined Southwestern as a Visiting Associate Professor of Legal Analysis, Writing, and Skills for the 2019-2020 academic term before joining as a full-time Associate Professor. Professor de Gyarfas first became a member of the Southwestern faculty in 2008, teaching legal writing, Defenses in the Law, and Selected Topics in American Law. She also served as the Director of Southwestern’s Entertainment and Media Law LL.M. Online Program from 2008 to 2016. As a graduate of Southwestern, Professor de Gyarfas’s roots and love for Southwestern run deep.

Professor de Gyarfas recently came to us from the law firm of Buchanan & Patterson, LLP, where she litigated trust issues before the Probate Court, drafted petitions for instruction, briefs, legal memorandum, and conducted depositions. She is also Director of Operations and Managing Member at College Audition LA, LLC (CALA). CALA provides the applicant and family the knowledge, training, support, and confidence to successfully navigate the college audition and application process.
Since graduating from law school in 1994, Professor de Gyarfas has been involved in many endeavors relating to the educational process, from coaching law students through law school as well as bar preparation, to serving as Assistant Dean of Students and Professor of Legal Analysis and Writing at the first online law school, Concord University School of Law.
While in law school, Professor de Gyarfas was Managing Editor of the Southwestern Law Review, and a member of the Moot Court Honors Program. Her background also includes judicial clerkships with the Honorable Kathleen P. March, United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California, and the Honorable Alan M. Ahart, Kathleen P. March, and Vincent P. Zurzolo, United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California.
