The Southwestern Law Review, in collaboration with Southwestern’s Black Law Students Association, is thrilled to present the 2021 Law Review symposium - Widening the Lens of Justice: Unmasking the Layers of Racial and Social Inequality. 

Join scholars, practitioners, and activists from around the country as we engage with our racist past and present in an attempt to map out a better future. The symposium will widen the lens of racial and social injustice from police brutality to issues surrounding the environment, wealth and economics, criminal prosecution, and voting rights, focusing both on a retrospective view of oppression as well as a progressive view for systemic change.

• Luncheon Keynote: Constitutionalizing Our Democratic Expectations

• Criminal Justice: Strides Towards Progressive Policing and Prosecution

• Voting Rights: The Fight for Access to the Ballot

We are excited to welcome Congressman Adam Schiff to deliver the opening address and Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell to deliver the closing address.
