Travel and Lodging Reimbursement Policy
For invited speakers who complete a publishable manuscript* by January 13, 2025, and who accept Southwestern Law School’s offer to publish their manuscript, the Conference will provide the following reimbursements:
Flights
- Up to $1,500 for Round Trip economy airfare for a Southwestern-approved flight from/to a point of origin outside of North America. The exact amount of reimbursement will be determined by Southwestern, based on the cost and availability of flights in that market for Friday, February 14, 2025 (outbound) and Sunday, February 16, 2025 (return); or
- Up to $750 for Round Trip economy airfare for a Southwestern-approved flight from/to a point of origin within North America, including the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. The exact amount of reimbursement will be determined by Southwestern, based on the cost and availability of flights in that market for Friday, February 14, 2025 (outbound) and Sunday, February 16, 2025 (return).
Lodging
- Two nights’ room and tax at the Conference Hotel in Los Angeles. The reimbursement will be at a negotiated conference rate. All other hotel expenses are the speakers’ responsibility.
- Speakers may have the option of extending their stay at the Conference Hotel at their own expense
- Speakers may choose to stay elsewhere in Los Angeles, at their own expense.
- All expenses not specified above will be the speakers’ responsibility.
- Reimbursement will be processed only after a completed manuscript is accepted for publication.
*Manuscripts submitted to the Conference will be peer-reviewed by the Journal or its designees, who shall have the sole discretion to determine it meets the Journal’s standards as a publishable manuscript. Speakers with papers who do not complete a publishable manuscript or do not accept Southwestern’s written publication offer may still participate in the Conference at their own expense.
