Adjunct Professor Mark Juhas to be Honored by Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center
Judge Mark A. Juhas of the Los Angeles Superior Court, a member of Southwestern’s adjunct faculty since 2006, will be honored by the Levitt & Quinn Family Law Center at the nonprofit organization’s 2016 Stand for Justice Gala. He will receive the “Outstanding Community Service” Award during the event that will be held on September 17, 2016 at the Skirball Cultural Center.
Judge Juhas teaches Family Law and Community Property at Southwestern and has encouraged students to go into the field and to engage in public interest activities. As the keynote speaker at Southwestern’s 2016 Public Service Luncheon in April, he urged students to always make time to use their legal expertise to help those in need. “If you let it, your job in the law will take all of your time,” he said. “Have the courage to make time for pro bono work. Tell your colleagues, and encourage them to do it, too. Make pro bono service part of the fabric of your career. You will not be sorry you did.”
