Southwestern to Host a Celebration of Asian Pacific American Women Law Firm Partners in Los Angeles
On Friday, September 16, Southwestern will host the Asian Pacific American Women Lawyers Alliance of Los Angeles (APAWLA), which will be honoring women law firm partners and celebrate the growing power and influence of all Asian Pacific American women partners in Los Angeles law firms.
Among the honorees is Cyndie Chang, the Managing Partner of the Los Angeles office of Duane Morris — the first APA Woman Managing Partner in Los Angeles. Additional honorees include more than 100 APA Women who are law firm partners in the area. In addition to Ms. Chang, Southwestern Dean Susan Prager, APAWLA President Luci-Ellen Chun, and Los Angeles Superior Court Judge and APAWLA member Hon. Holly Fujie will speak at the event.
“I am delighted that APAWLA is celebrating this historic moment for APA women lawyers –honoring the first 100 APA women to make partner in Los Angeles law firms,” Judge Fujie said. “This event will showcase the increasing power and influence of APA women lawyers in Los Angeles, as well as encourage APA women to enter and succeed in the legal profession.”
The event will be held on Southwestern’s campus from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with registration beginning at 5:30 p.m. Hors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast will be provided, together with the opportunity to meet and strengthen ties with all members of the APA legal community.
