Meet our 2021 Asian Pacific American Law Student Association Board Members
We are excited to introduce the following group of students as the next generation of leaders and changemakers pioneering our Asian Pacific American Law Student Association.
Southwestern APALSA is dedicated to advancing the academic, professional, and social interests of all past, present, and future members by addressing issues impacting the AAPI legal community.
Co-President - Camila Zhao Yingying
Year: Rising 3L, Traditional Day
Future Aspiration: To make the world a better place.
Activities: SBA Director of Student Life, Law Review Leads Article Editor, PILC Activities Chair, and Tax Law Society Secretary.

Fun Fact: I grew up in São Paulo, Brazil.
Asian Role Model: My dad for inspiring me to be better every day.
Co-President - Jacob Lee
Year: Rising 3L, Part-Time Evening
Future Aspiration: Working in Sports and Entertainment Law.
Activities: Communications Chair, Negotiations Honors Program 2021-2022; Public Relations Chair, Sports Law Society 2021-2022; APALSA Safe Space Series Committee
He says: "Being still and doing nothing are two completely different things."
Fun Fact: My dog is an Instagram pet influencer.
Asian Role Model: My Uncle Ed
Co Vice-President - One Choi
Year: Rising 3L, Traditional Day
Future Aspiration: To be an outstanding lawyer that future generations of law students can look up to.
Activities: I serve on the Board for STyLE. In conjunction with going to law school, I run the Panorama Cafe on the 9th Floor of the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
He says: No pressure, no diamonds.
Fun Fact: I like to surf when I need to decompress.
Asian Role Model: Mom and Dad.
Co Vice-President - Tiffany Lo
Year: Rising 3L, Traditional Day
Future Aspiration: I want to be a force in the AAPI community, and I want to be a great mother and role model to my children.
Activities: Summer law clerk at LADA’s Office, judicial extern at Los Angeles Superior Court, Tax Law Society, Women’s Law Association, Public Interest Law Committee, Dean’s Fellow, Law Review
She says: “Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” - RBG
Fun Fact: I am Taiwanese but I don’t like boba!
Asian Role Model: Yo-Yo Ma
Secretary - Jennifer Eaton
Year: Rising 3L, Traditional Day
Future Aspiration: To be employed.
Activities: APALSA, Negotiation Honors Program, Tax Law Society, Writing Fellow, Teaching Assistant for LAWS and BA
She says: Make sure to wash the rice.
Fun Fact: I own a manatee.
Asian Role Model: Ali Wong
Treasurer - Andrea Yeam
Year: Rising 2L, Traditional Day
Future Aspiration: To become someone useful for my community.
Activities: LADA summer externship.

Fun Fact: I split my chin open once while cliff diving.

Future Aspiration: Estate Planning Attorney
Activities: APALSA, Tax Law Society, Student Representative for SCCLA, Full-time Judicial Assistant for a LA Superior Court Judge

Fun Fact: My name was originally supposed to be Denise, but my dad spelled it wrong. It’s pronounced Duh-lease.
Asian Role Model: Wu Zetian, China’s first and only female emperor
Co-Communications Chair - Christine Chen
Year: Rising 3L, Traditional Day
Future Aspiration: To be a cool mom.
Activities: APALSA, CLS, PILC, LADA Major Crimes Unit, Research Assistant for Professor Strader.
She says: Oscar Wilde said: “you can never be overdressed or overeducated.”
Fun Fact: I’m lactose tolerant.
Asian Role Model: My immigrant parents.
SBA Liaison - Andrew Meily
Year: Rising 2L, Traditional Day
Future Aspiration: Production Legal or Business/Legal Affairs attorney.
Activities: At home, I love watching movies/TV, exercising, and following the NBA/NFL. As for school activities, I’m involved in the Entertainment Law Society and Music Law Society. This summer, I’ll be externing as a law clerk at the L.A. District Attorney’s office.

Fun Fact: I have a cat named Mac Miller.
Asian Role Model: David Chang – love his food, restaurants, and TV shows!
Professional Development Chair - Hayanna Kim
Year: Rising SCALE II
Future Aspiration: Just striving to be a good person.
Activities: Small Claims Court Clinic, Mass Incarceration Awareness Law Society
She says: "I am rooted, but I flow." Virginia Woolf
Fun Fact: Drank coffee every single day since I was 14 years old. Never skipped a day. I swear.
Asian Role Model: Ahn Changho
Academic Chair - Dean Matsuyama
Year: Rising 3L, Part-Time Evening
Future Aspiration: Someone who makes a difference in the lives of others.
Activities: Moot Court, Dean's Fellow, Labor & Employment Law Association, and Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.
She says: "There is more than one path to the top of the mountain." Miyamoto Musashi
Fun Fact: To settle the score, I choose the tenor sax.
