Southwestern Law School to Host 34th Annual Alumni Awards Gala

Southwestern Law School is pleased to announce the 34th Annual Alumni Awards Gala, taking place Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 6:00–10:00 p.m. at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

Hosted by the Alumni Association, the Gala celebrates the accomplishments of Southwestern alumni and community partners. The evening includes a reception, dinner, and networking with legal professionals from across Southern California.

2025 Honorees:

• Outstanding Alumnus of the Year: J. Bernard Alexander III ’86. Renowned civil rights attorney and founding partner of Alexander Morrison + Fehr, LLP. Recognized for his landmark verdicts and multiple Trial Lawyer of the Year honors.
• Outstanding Judicial Officer: Hon. Shelley L. Kaufman ’81. Supervising Judge of the LASC Family Law Division, noted for her leadership and prior civil rights litigation work.
• Outstanding Firm: PARRIS Law Firm. Celebrated for mentorship, student engagement, and co-founding the Parris Academy for Excellence in Law and Leadership at Southwestern.
• Outstanding Friend: Mexican American Bar Foundation. Honored for awarding over $1 million in scholarships and support to nearly 200 Southwestern students.

Net proceeds from the Gala benefit the Debbie Leathers Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship Fund, advancing student access and opportunity.
