Southwestern Law School seeks a Facilities Manager to join its facilities team The Facilities Manager is critical in maintaining the functionality, safety, and appearance of campus buildings, equipment, and grounds. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, this position is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating event setups, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing daily maintenance operations. The role requires a proactive approach to repairs and ensuring seamless facility operations to meet the needs of the campus community. This is an in-person and exempt position.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide exceptional customer service to the campus community by addressing facility needs promptly and effectively.
- Oversee the daily operation and performance of facility equipment and systems.
- Ensure the proper functioning of mechanical systems through regular inspections.
- Manage seasonal and operational adjustments to campus lighting schedules.
- Coordinate routine and annual cleaning services for carpets and hard surfaces.
- Manage predictive and preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Plan, interpret, and execute event setups to align with campus needs.
- Manage and assign daily maintenance requests for timely resolutions.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures while providing ongoing training to maintenance staff.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain and monitor inventory levels for supplies and equipment.
- Supervise maintenance personnel.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency response needs, available 24/7 year-round.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years in a supervisory role within facilities or maintenance operations.
- Strong understanding of maintenance systems, technical operations, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
Skills:
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and work independently when needed.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and facility management software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
- May be required to work in various conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings, and may be exposed to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Pay: $72,000/Yr.
